Why we send you away

Two reasons, and the first is the honest one: it's the right thing to do. If you're behind on payments or being chased, what you need is specialist debt help, and those organisations do it better than anyone charging for it.

The second is that telling somebody what to do about their debts is a regulated activity in its own right — not something a planner can do by being careful about it. So we describe, we ask, and we point you at people who are permitted and equipped to help.

Come back afterwards if you want to. Planning is genuinely useful once the immediate pressure is off and the question becomes how to stop it happening again. It's close to useless while the phone is still ringing.
